Life is never fair, a theme we all find everywhere we look in life. When it comes to natural beauty of a place, for instance, the Higher Being must have played favorites when it showered abundant beauty on this chain of islands we call Palawan, found at the western part of the Philippines, the last frontier facing West Philippine Sea. Man-made Forest in Bohol
Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree. This is the last line of a Joyce Kilmer poem. Here in Bohol, people not only make a tree, they grow an entire man-made forest. Located at the border of the Bilar and Loboc towns in Bohol, the man-made forest is a 2-kilometer stretch of purposely-planted mahogany trees, in the middle of which the road leading to the Chocolate Hills cuts through. The city is a concrete jungle, full of greenery artificially created by people to resemble the plants and trees that nature has nurtured for years. There’s plenty of breathtaking scenery in the city — view from the Philippines’ tallest building in Makati or the seemingly endless labyrinths of gigantic malls, among others.
