We love mountaintops. We have not conquered one, unfortunately, so we have to make do with — for the meantime, that is — gawking at the amazing photos of our fellow travelers. We’ve featured some of those mountaintop photos. Then there’s this photo of Tarak Ridge (Mariveles, Bataan) from Cess Catangal, who probably refers to travel, or how her significant other should get to her, when she said “by air, land and sea.” We could imagine the peace up there. It’s probably not literally peaceful, with the high wind and the sweaty exhilaration and all, but it’s like getting out of the mad world and testing the limits of your mind and body. For many, peace of mind is found in a zen garden or in meditation, but for others, peace of mind exists while extending their arms in reaching the summit and savoring the smell of contentment.
