We’ve realized a few things on our trip to Donsol, Sorsogon, with a stop-over in Legaspi City. The neighboring city of Naga, under an hour of drive from Legaspi City, is more tourist-friendly than Legaspi (tourist-friendly should not be construed beyond its limited scope). It has the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Basilica. The fact that the only Starbucks in the region is found here speaks volumes (we need our coffee fix). Plus the food is better. For instance, let’s take the Red Platter restaurant.

There’s a few churches in the Philippines that are widely known. One of them is the Basilica Minore de Nuestra Señora de Peña de Francia in Naga City.
