Visit to Kanin Club (UP-Ayala Land Technohub)
Kanin Club. This sounds like a group of people with a passion for rice, in the same way that a dance club is all about dance and fight club is all about fighting, but this is really the name of the restaurant. And it’s not entirely all about rice (“kanin” in Filipino). True, rice at the Kanin Club is topnotch. FlapJacks at UP-AyalaLand TechonoHUB
Before anything else, allow me to apologize for the very limited number of photos posted here. I got carried away going through the menu, making our order, then attacking my corned beef breakfast at FlapJacks. We were supposed to meet at 8:30 in the morning, but then we got stuck in traffic and arrived at 9:30 — starved already. UP-AyalaLand TechnoHUB (Diliman, Quezon City)
The name pretty much sums up what one needs to know about the place. It’s a cooperation between the University of the Philippines (UP), one of the country’s top universities, and AyaLand, one of the country’s top real estate companies. We could have used “the” top university or real estate company, but that would be counterproductive - we’d devote all our energy arguing about it. So let’s just leave it at that.
