Revisiting Museo Pambata (Manila City)

The world is confusing, no doubt about it. Sometimes we want places to stay the same. Other times we want something new in the places that we visit again. The first time we visited Museo Pambata, the kids had fun. A couple of visits to this kid-friendly establishment in Manila City, it stayed the same. That’s why we were pleasantly surprised to see new additions when we revisited the Museong Pambata over the long holy week weekend. Continue reading Revisiting Museo Pambata (Manila City)

Swimming Pool of Cocoon Boutique Hotel

A hotel’s swimming pool has its unique pull on certain guests. The fact that Cocoon Boutique Hotel has a pool made us decide to visit it over the long weekend. Now, there are reasons why we’re writing separately on the swimming pool of Cocoon Boutique Hotel. There are reasons why we’re writing this article ahead of the main article for this unassuming yet sophisticated hotel somewhere in the heart of Quezon City. Ranking the Rides of Enchanted Kingdom

It’s good to discover that the best theme park in the Philippines, Enchanted Kingdom, added new rides since the last time we went here. We also discovered that a visit to Enchanted Kingdom is more fun, at least for us, when done late in the afternoon, around 4:00 p.m., when the sun is about to set. The cooler weather makes it more fun and less energy draining. The park (located in Sta. Rosa, Laguna) closes at 9:00 p.m. so there’s enough time to go around. Try the Disk-O-Magic of Enchanted Kingdom

Obviously to keep the theme park fresh to guests, the new and frequent visitors alike, the Enchanted Kingdom (Sta. Rosa, Laguna) brings in new rides from time to time. The last time we were here, Enchanted Kingdom welcomed the EKstreme Tower Ride. This time around, we didn’t expect to see, and so we were smiling when we saw, the spanking-new Disk-O-Rama. Trick Art Museum (Seri Fantasy World, Manila Ocean Park)

Art is understandably outside the domain, and interest, of the common people. Art is generally expensive. It’s either fashionably snobbish or genuinely boring. So, what better way to beautifully and effectively bring art to the general public but to make it interactive? And cool. Fun and cool. Imperial Palace Waterpark and Spa Cebu

In terms of historical significance, we know Mactan Island as the place where the forces of the Spanish conquestador, Ferdinand Magellan, and the Filipino forces of Lapu-Lapu, [see also Revisiting Magellan’s Cross, Mactan Shrine and Basilica del Sto. Nino]. In terms of tourist attractions, we know Mactan Island as the location of a number fine beaches and 5-star resorts, including the Imperial Palace Waterpark and Spa Cebu. Summer Water Fun at Club Manila East (CME)

There’s something about water and kids, a bond that probably started when we all started as growing fetuses floating in mom’s womb. We don’t know any scientific basis for that link but it’s fairly obvious when kids hit water venues. This is evident in a water world east of the Metro, the Club Manila East (CME), a place that has so much to offer for kids and adults. Continue reading Summer Water Fun at Club Manila East (CME)

Saving Jessica Sanchez, American Idol and Rajo Laurel

This is a first for us — this time, we are going to ask everyone, Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike, to support and vote for our own, Jessica Sanchez. We’re a little late with the news, but we just learned that Jessica was voted off American Idol Season 11, which means she received the lowest vote. She survived to sing for another day because the judges — God bless you Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler — wisely decided to use their only “save”. Here’s Jessica saying thanks after the show: Continue reading Saving Jessica Sanchez, American Idol and Rajo Laurel
