“Don’t let anyone ever dull your sparkle,” says Pamela Karen (@impmlkrn) in her instagram profile. We’re not really sure if the group, apparently performing during the Foundation Day of their school, is really singing or if it was raining, but we’re reminded of that song about singing under the rain — in style, forming the Philippine flag. Just like blazing one’s own path despite the downpur of naysayers, that flag, and what it represents, reminds us of the warmth and pride evoked by that 1980s Philippine Airlines (PAL) commercial, “The Beauty of the Philippines — Shining Through.” Really, no matter what is said about the Philippines, we still can’t say enough of its beauty, and we won’t get tired of talking about that beauty.
