We’ve planned to post something about cassava cakes, one of our favorite desserts and Pinoy kakanin. That was ages ago and it’s only now that we’ve finally decided to write that article.
Here’s the problem — those who likes cassava cakes have strong opinions about their respective favorite brands. We feel we haven’t explored enough cassava cakes.
The one featured here, Benito’s Cassava Cakes, happens to be along the way home. There’s a cassava cake at Arny-Dading’s, but we associate it more with peachy-peachy. Rosalie’s also has cassava cakes, but they don’t have an outlet here.
That being said, let’s have a different format for this post — you tell us your favorite cassava cake. Hopefully we’ll live long and healthy enough to try all your suggestions, and make some informed notes here.
Oh, going back to Benito’s. They have rich, really sweet cassava cakes. We ordered the one with macapuno. Medyo nakakaumay, but delicious.
