Sutokil
If “sutokil” sounds foreign to you, chances are, you’re not from Cebu or haven’t toured Cebu. Sutokil is a contraction for “SUgba” (sinugba), “TOla” (tinola) and KILaw (kinilaw), equivalent to the dampa of Metro Manila. “Sinugba” is grilled food. “Tinola” is, for lack of a better term, seafood soup. “Kinilaw” is raw seafood in vinegar and spices. The more famous sutokil is in Mactan Island, beside the Lapu-Lapu Monument and Mactan Shrine, overlooking the mangrove area. Rate (above) and review (below) Sutokil.
